Stupid Cancer is proud to present Digital CancerCon 2022, which is a free, one-day virtual conference for the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer community. Join us Saturday, November 19, 2022 for important information and plenty of opportunities to chat and connect with your peers.

We know that mental health support is critical to patient care, but that many people, especially in marginalized patient populations, are not receiving adequate support. By creating a space to collaborate and co-create solutions, this session will allow participants to leave with real tools to be implemented in your life and/or work to further the inclusion of mental health needs into cancer care.

This prompt-style writing workshop is a great way to start - prompts help you enter the page and guide your thoughts so you don’t have to stare at a blinking cursor feeling lost and discouraged. Together we’ll write away some of our stress — and find some healing by using writing as a tool to find meaning.

Disenfranchised Grief: Grieving the Spectrum of Loss as a Caregiver

When a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, you may experience a spectrum of loss experiences that you grieve, but feel like you can't give space to them. This caregiver-focused session will focus on Disenfranchised Grief, or grief that may not be acknowledged or considered "legitimate." Join for a space in which you can give your grief a voice, feel supported to grieve all of the losses in between, and learn how to better cope with this type of grief by finding community with other caregivers experiencing similar feelings.

Accessing Mental Health Resources 101

If you're already struggling or not feeling physically well, even a google search can be incredibly daunting. For any of our webinar-style sessions, you may come and go as you please! However, you must join discussion sessions on time -- latecomers will not be admitted into the session, so we recommend that you plan your schedule beforehand.
Absolutely! Our agenda is full of opporunities to meet new friends, such as social activities like trivia; community mixers that are open all day; and breakout sessions. Through the virtual environment, you're also able to start 1:1 and group chats! In addition to instant messaging, there's a video chat function that you can use to interact with fellow attendees.
Yes there is! CancerCon is a hybrid program, with Digital CancerCon in the fall/winter and CancerCon Live in spring/summer. The next CancerCon Live will be in Atlanta from August 17 - 20, 2023. Registration opens next year but click here to get the inside scoop before everyone else!
